Boosh

Hallo Leute!
Last week dolphin show for pday(I got soaked!)
Another week done and only a few more days until transfers! Today we went to a member's house and it was pday but we were like ja why not! Best pday ever!! The Dobischs are the cutest oldest people ever! We got to hear about the Berlin Wall, Bruder Dobisch said that he was alive when it was built and when it was torn down and as he told us about it being torn down, tears streamed down his face and wow it was cool to learn about his life and how his mother and brother traveled for months to find freedom from the Russians. You just learn so much from people here! I'm continually surprised at how hard people's lives are but also how they find peace and happiness still because they rely on the Lord to strengthen them and on God to answer their prayers.
The Dobischs are converts and the elders found them after dooring their street three times!! The elders had prayed of where to go and where lead to their street and no one was interested, a week later did the same thing and were told to return and no one was there, and the third time they prayed, they were told to go to this street and came in contact with the Dobisch family! They had been on vacation that whole time! But wow I got goosebumps! God leads us to the people that are ready! We just need to act and keep acting even when we don't see the fruits of our labors at first.

I was reading in Alma 5 this week and it is a chapter that you can't read too much! My brother Nairne told me to refer to it often before I went off on my mission and as I've done so I've been able to see how I've changed. In Verses 48 & 49 he says:
"48 I say unto you, that I know of myself that whatsoever I shall say unto you, concerning that which is to come, is true; and I say unto you, that I know that Jesus Christ shall come, yea, the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, and mercy, and truth. And behold, it is he that cometh to take away the sins of the world, yea, the sins of every man who steadfastly believeth on his name.
49 And now I say unto you that this is the order after which I am called, yea, to preach unto my beloved brethren, yea, and every one that dwelleth in the land; yea, to preach unto all, both old and
young, both bond and free; yea, I say unto you the aged, and also the middle aged, and the rising generation; yea, to cry unto them that they must repent and be born again"
That is what I know! That is what I do! Just wonderful stuff you find in the Book of Mormon:)

Last thing, we had a lesson with Michael, who grew up in Africa and has a wonderful knowledge of the Bible and we answered some of his questions about where we go after this life. As we told him about the Spirit World he asked for proof of it in the Bible so we showed him and he asked for another passage and we showed him. He was so stunned that he never noticed that and was just ya so surprised! He didn't try to argue with us either he has a true desire to learn and it was amazing to see how his eyes were opened to new truths!
On a side note my English has hit a turn for this worse. Sister Perkins told me after the lesson that I say "Book" wrong hahah...but for real I say boosh. The German word for book is Buch so I put the two together when I speak English hahah oh man. Life. But I'm super excited for Michael he has a ton of potential!

Have a wonderful week!
Liebe Grüße

Polizei!!

Hallo Leute,
I'm so sorry about last week, I wrote a wonderful email, pictures included and it didn't send somehow and it also vanished so apparently what I said in it wasn't too important haha.
I did say Happy Mother's Day to my mom:) She's the best mom in the world! Don't know what I do without her, but honestly, she taught me like everything! 'Twas good to Skype the family! Can't believe Hollan leaves in less than a month bah!
Skype:)
The week before last I don't really remember what happened. We did have zone conference and we gave our two presentations which went really well, I prayed a ton and so it wasn't too stressful the day of ,,, #prayerworks.
I also do remember that we went to Köln(cologne) for pday with some of the Sisters and climbed like a bagillion steps in the köln dom! We also ate Mexican döner before, not a good idea...haha but they tasted great.
Köln Dom!

This week...we had interviews with president and it's weird to think he's going home in a month and we'll be getting a new mission president!! President Stoddard and Sister Stoddard shared their words of wisdom which I find pretty profound. They are:
  • attitude is everything
  • Prayer works
  • Obedience brings blessings
  • We are agents not objects
Things I'm working on understanding and applying! He and his wife are truly wonderful people and are the definition of spiritual giants!
So ya I was in a police station for an hour on Tuesday:) My wallet got stolen so I went to report it and it was a pretty thorough interview that left my head spinning after. It was pretty cool to be honest and even though there was a lot of words that I didn't understand we got the report finished! I was on a split with Sister Baker that day and she was a pal and sat outside for an hour as I did that. Naja life of a missionary for ja. You never know what you're going to face.
Sister Baker and I
I went on a split with Sister Weiler and she wasn't feeling too well but worked regardless of it and talked to a guy even though she was about to hurl and ended up getting his contact info and setting up an appointment! She said right after "God better bless us because of that" hahah and he did. The guy she talked to, Kevin, has a baptismal date now! We met with him and he told us that everything just makes sense! And in his closing prayer he said "thanks for convincing me that this church is true!" Whaaat?!? Man I'm surprised everyday by the people here! They teach me so much
Another man we met with, Issa(means Jesus in Arabic) told us he knows he needs to make a change in his life and meeting with us has helped up put one foot in the right direction. He believes Christ is a Prophet so that means he doesn't believe in the Atonement. But as we showed him the Prince of Peace video, he started crying and point to the screen and said "that's correct, that's correct, that's correct!" Woah.  He felt the spirit and told us that his heart felt like it was coming out of his chest and that he knew Christ is there! Ah! So cool! Christ changes people!
There are countless stories from this week I could share but it'd take a bit and I'm a lazy writer but I guess I just want to say this Church is true! Christ gives use the strength peace we need to push through the hard times. He's the only one that brings us lasting joy!

Die Wunder Brücke

Hallo Leute!

Congratulations to Jim and Alicja on their new baby girl! She's adorable:)

I can't believe it's May already! Bah! The weather is still in September mode so I've got plenty of time to serve here in Deutschland:)

This week was fantastic! We really saw the work of the Spirit as we street contacted. We use a survey sometimes and honestly I never used it before because I thought it'd never work. But I grew a testimony of it real quick when we contact a man under what I call die Wunder Brücke or the miracle bridge. We were able to stop 3 people total and do this survey and set up appointments with all of them from it! The survey talks about the family and peoples beliefs. One man in particular told us that he needed what we had because he needs to make a change in his life because he knows he's not good enough to be a father to his daughter. He told us he was busy but he did really have interest so we exchanged numbers and we told him we'd call him in a few weeks to set up a time. TWO days later he calls us and tells us that he wants to meet next week and that he is ready to here what we
believe about Christ and hopes that he will believe on it. The sincerity in his voice and his desire to know the truth gave us both chills! I told Sister Perkins after that I like phone calls now hahah.
People are ready to hear the gospel!!! He also said he was marking his calendar as "Jesus Termin"(appointment) haha.
I've been getting a lot of questions about why we believe God has a body and how Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ in the flesh, but most people aren't to willing to believe that quite yet but I was reading more about the Plan of Salvation and how we are sent to earth to learn and to grow and to become like our Heavenly Father and I stumbled upon a talk from President Oaks that's called "The Godhead and the Plan of Salvation" (like seriously everything I studied in the title) and he says "As spirit children of God, in an existence prior to mortality, we desired a destiny of eternal life but had progressed as far as we could without a mortal experience in a physical body." and that got me thinking about how much more we experience when we do have a body...pain and runners high are a few things I thought up (can you tell I miss exercise?) but it just makes sense why God has a body and had experienced everything and how we are created like Him and sent here to experience more! But ya I just thought I'd share that!
I ate a "street taco" haha not really it had Döner meet and tasted like Asian food but it tasted good and it had a tortilla so I guess it counts:)

I went on a split with a new missionary..:)
I was told this week by an investigator to stop being so white hahah he's from Africa, we got a phone call from the assistants in the mission telling us we need to prepare two presentations for a zone conference (100 or so missionaries will be there) someone told Sister Perkins and I that we look like sisters, and I got my Easter package from my mom!!! Just some more random things for you all:)
Package my mom sent..those eyes hahah
Liebe Grüße,
